Another purveyor of fried foods that does what it does well.  The fish is nice and flaky, the shrimp have the proper consistency and are nice and juicy.  The cornmeal batter compliments the seafood wonderfully. Fish R’ Us is big on flavor and atmosphere, the small takeout joint located across from the Carver library is big on flavor.  The lunch and dinner platters come with tasty lightly seasoned fries, little hushpuppies and sweet cole slaw.  Everything is very reasonably priced with most platters running $6.75.  The only drawback is that you have to takeaway but there are many lovely parks around that part of town that have recently been through some revitalization that are a perfect backdrop for a little seafood picnic.

Another restaurant that demands that Austinites rediscover the east side.
